They have the differences and it’s up to you what you want, but I personally don’t think that Serpent is that much better to warrant buying it. Serpent will definitely be better for increasing your single target damage and damage of every hit, but Archaic will be much better for fighting multiple enemies and will be much less conditional. There are three levels of gates in the puzzle. Ultimately I think that Serpent would just be good if you need to balance out your crit rate/damage ratio. The puzzle is located underground just inside the Serpents Head on Yashiori Island, as shown below.
